It is the launch the interiors world has been waiting for ever since it was first rumoured that such creativity was afoot. I don’t think it would be overcooking it to say that The Queen Square Collection between Morris & Co and architectural design and interior Decorator Ben Pentreath is one of the most exciting interior brand collaborations in recent times. The collection of 18 recoloured William Morris wallpaper and 18 fabric designs has been styled and photographed at Ben’s beautiful and famously ‘grammed Dorset rectory.
Christmas is the time of year that sends interior stylists into overdrive (even though they have often been decorating for Christmas several times over since July). We can’t resist it! However, nothing quite compares to the effort and scale that has gone into decorating Castle Howard in Yorkshire this Christmas. Respect goes to the three weeks of non-stop decorating that completed months of planning by Charlotte Lloyd Webber, Bretta Gereke and their team of 6. Turn away now if your school uniform was bottle green and you swore that the colour wouldn’t darken your door again. Every which way you look, the mystical and glamorous combination of green and velvet is, to put it quite simply, ‘big’ for Autumn/Winter 2016 fashion and interiors. Although I put my neck out and made a prediction at the beginning of February with my post on the launch of Farrow and Ball’s Paint Colours 2016 that it might be, even I have been taken aback at the the groundswell of this new direction.
