Coastal style

The tide has brought in a 19th century 3D wooden advertising picture of a clipper yacht. Beautifully painted and signed (although I can’t read the signature), it is perfect for a coastal style gallery wall and a wonderful decorator’s piece. It is 57 cm wide x 49.5 cm high x 5.5 cm deep. An evocative vintage watercolour of a Cornish cove framed in a new bobbin frame with wallpaper mount. Painted around the 1950s, this was obviously a much loved spot for the artist. Size of frame is 33 cm long x 27.5 cm wide x 2 cm depth. Available now at £38 plus £7 shipping via Etsy.

Knock, knock

A beautifully cast antique (possibly late 1800s, early 19th century) brass door knocker in the form of the Greek Goddess Athena. It is in good working order and comes complete with two sturdy screws/nuts to attach to a wooden front door. The size is 15.5 cm long x 12 cm wide and is available in my shop Etsy for £65 plus £7 shipping.

Mirrors

A stylish 20th century 45 cm diameter Sorcerer style circular mirror with bevel edge and border of magnifying mirror circles. Wonderful in almost any scenario or room. Due to age, the mirror has foxed a bit but gives it a lovely vintage feel. £130 plus local collection. Please contact me direct for more information.

Cosy lighting

A pair of vintage (c. 1980s and no longer in production) Classical Creamware candlesticks in the Vine Twist design are just so perfect for festive dining, console tables and mantlepieces. They are 11.7 cm wide at base and 20.7 cm tall. Available now at £70/pair plus £5.49 shipping, Etsy.

An early 20th century Arts and Crafts copper repousse candle sconce in the style often made by the fishermen in Newlyn during winter when the fishing boats couldn’t go out to sea. This has a beautifully simple spring tulip motif with single candleholder conceived as overlapping flower petals. It is 11.2 cm wide x 26 cm long and takes the width of a standard sized dinner candle. It is available with more photos which show the maker’s RR inscription at £90 plus £11 shipping on Etsy.

A single Hollywood Regency style glass and metal candle sconce from the 1950s with barley twist glass arms and candle holders mounted on a mirrored disc. Cream with a hint of green paint has given new life to this early 20th-century barley twist design candlestick pair. Lovely for those appreciating lighter interior details or for those looking for a contrast. They are 28.5 cm high x 13.5 cm diameter bases. They take standard dinner size candles. Vintage bow and swag etched design with sprinkling of stars onto crystal bon bon dish. Perfect for incidental lighting with a tea light (this is a large 5.5cm diameter tealight) or for serving or as a dressing table dish for jewellery. Tablescaping

This vintage c.1980s/early 90s Royal Creamware (no longer in production) tankard is in immaculate condition and would either make a wonderful gift as a large mug, pencil/paintbrush holder or vase. It has the adorable double twist Georgian style handle with rose/leaf designs where the handle attaches to the mug. It holds approximately 1.25 pints of liquid and is 14.5 cm high x 9.5 cm diameter. Summer has arrived with this irresistible pink and green celery design plate. I can’t find a maker’s mark on this but think it might be around 1930s. It is 30.5 cm long x 16.5 cm at its widest point. A little paint has worn due to age but it is great fun at £17 plus £5.49 shipping. It would make a great styling or decorator’s piece too. See more photos and information in my Etsy shop.

I was excited to come across this wonderful 1937 coronation mug by favourite artist Dame Laura Knight DBE RA for King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. It looks like it has been hand washed all its life and is generally in very good condition. The Dame Laura Knight style is what makes it special. A very handsome antique Doulton Lambeth Silicon Ware (1881-1912) jug signed S.S. in a salt glaze stoneware complete with classical leaf motifs with central band of what looks like an acanthus design. Pretty 19th Century English pink lustreware side plate. There is no makers mark but this floral and leaf design plate glints nicely in the light. It is 19 cm diameter and is £18 plus £5 shipping from my Etsy shop.

A textural hammered pewter coffee pot with neatly woven rattan handle by Knightwood Old English from the early 20th century, it is in good condition and available on Etsy with more photos at £25 plus £5 shipping. The coffee pot is 17 cm high x 8.5 cm diameter.

A striking vintage, possibly mid-century pottery jug made in Milan that’s in good condition and holds just over 1 litre. Perfect as a pitcher or flower jug. For more photos and information, it is available now at £22 plus £5 shipping on Etsy.

Dressing table

Very pretty vintage, silver plate footed basket dish. It has a twisted handled with a scalloped edge each one of which has an engraved swirl. Lovely beaded detail too. This would make a stylish fruit/canape/bonbon dish or as a jewellery dish for a dressing table. Size is 19.5 cm diameter x 7 cm high including foot. Available now, £20 plus £5 shipping on Etsy.

Vintage framed prints

This Vanity Fair print from the 20th century is a cartoon by “Spy” of Hylton Philipson who was educated at Eton and New College Oxford. In 1889 he was captain of Oxford cricket team’s 1st XI. The print is in good condition and comes with free IKEA black wooden frame with acrylic glass. The actual print size is approximately 18.5 cm x 29 cm and the complete frame size is 32 x 42.5 cm. It is available at £50 plus £11 shipping in my Etsy shop where you can see more images.

A vintage 20th century print by the cartoonist “Spy” or rugby player Lieutenant G H D’Oyly Lyons. It is framed in a (free) black wooden IKEA frame with acrylic glass. The actual print size is approximately 18.5 cm x 29 cm and the complete size including IKEA frame is 32 cm x 42.5 cm.
