To say that the world renowned RHS Chelsea Flower Show is a bit of a biggy in the garden design/interior style calendar is a little bit of an understatement! House and garden tour: artists’ home in Cornwall
When guests visit Helen and John Worton’s home for the first time, they sometimes find themselves left a little bit speechless! This is due to the fact that to all intents and purposes the terraced frontage of this 16th Century Cornish cottage is not at all what it appears from the village square. You might imagine that what lies behind are low-beamed ceilings with a conventional upstairs/downstairs floor plan and a country-style interior in a neutral Farrow & Ball palette.

Into the woods … discover the most gorgeous log store designs!
If you are channelling your inner **Hygge this Autumn, you may wish to join me in worshipping some beautiful log stores from a maker I discovered on Instagram. These are veritable temples to the humble log, kindling and coal store. The photography features log stores installed in cute cottages to more sizeable Georgian properties on the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border (but also supply nationwide).

House and garden tour: Indigo Rye owner Karen Kennedy’s Oxfordshire home
Well before the UK design community had reconsidered Moroccan pattern and encaustic tiles as desirable for the home, Karen Kennedy, owner of Indigo Rye had them up as the surround to her reception desk in her hairdressing salon. Hanging above the desk are a couple of punched metal Moroccan pendent lights from Liberty. Not only that, but Niki-Jones home cushions sit on window seats either side of the front door to the salon and literally scream ‘come inside’ to the passers by of Berkshire and Oxfordshire. At least they do to those of us sensitive to exquisite decorative home accessories … !

British Design Edit: Cressida Bell
What do you think the link is between this incredible cake and one of the most influential artistic dynasties of the last 100 years? Designers are often multi-talented, turning from one discipline to another, but this cake design not only took my breath away because of its lifelike cactus decoration but because it was created by British designer Cressida Bell.
