Interior design style for less

Not every interior design/styling job comes with a limitless budget so knowing how to create a look for less can be an important part of a project. There are gems to be found everywhere from supermarket isles to car boots and high street stores. Just because something doesn’t have a high price tag doesn’t mean it lacks design integrity – you have just got to be able to spot it!

When it comes to blue and white, I admit to being a bit of a goldfish. You get through the gloom of winter and before you know it decorating and fashion companies are full of the jaunty promise of crisp blue and white with all its sparkly newness. Each year I willingly succumb to the idea that it is the breath of fresh air that both my home and wardrobe have been waiting for without remembering that this classic colour combination tends to make a surprise Spring appearance every year!

Switch up your interior with blue and white

Oh, but this year it’s different (that’s what I always say) and actually there are new interpretations and exciting new designs! To whet your appetite, here are some blue and white finds I have come across that will switch up your interior – without breaking the bank.

Navy and white bedlinen

100% cotton double duvet and 2 pillowcases, £20, Morrisons supermarket (in the home section of larger supermarkets, sadly not online).

Kafe wicker chair

Kafe wicker chair, 83 x 57 x 58 cm, £105. Admittedly, this chair isn’t a rock bottom price but it is very appealing. Take a look at Maisons du Monde – they have been on my radar for a while as they generally do have some great design at low prices – rather like Spanish retailer, Zara. Maisons du Monde

Seventies-style woven throw

Elsie tassel throw, 200 cm x 150 cm, £39.50M&S.

    1. How fantastic! That ‘special relationship’ just got even more special. It made me laugh that M&S changed their name today to Markle Sparkle! Ps I am not in any way sponsored. Just a little patriotic and want people to be able to buy the best quality at affordable prices! 😚🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
